I live in a bungalow and I find that in the morning my bedroom which the door is closed at night is really warm, alot warmer than the hallway. The house was built in 1961 and it has forced air heating and cooling nut no return ducts in the bedrooms. Do you think that adding a return air duct to the bedroom would solve that issue? If so, can I just install a a return air grill at the top of the wall between two studs and use the wall cavity as the duct? If so, how to I cut the bottom plate of the wall, do I cut part of the plate and remove it completely or do i only cut a hole into the bottom plate?
The supply duct runs right underneath the room in the basement underneath the bottom plate of the wall and the return duct is beside the supply. What would be the best way to connect the bedroom return duct to the main return duct?
