I'm having an issue with some residential wiring in my basement that I can't seem to solve. I am trying to add a new light fixture and a new switch for it to a pre-existing 15A circuit. It's in my basement and the easiest way to do it seems to be to pull power from a duplex receptacle that is nearby. This receptacle is connected to a 2nd one, which is at the end of the circuit run. I am wondering if I can get power from the first outlet and take it to the 2nd end of run outlet, while simultaneously getting power to the new light fixture and switch for it. So effectively I'd like to have the new light and switch wired between the 2 receptacles with the power coming from the non end of run receptacle. I have tried several different wiring configurations and nothing is working for me. If anyone can help I would love to know what you think.
