We are finishing our basement. The good news is the bathroom area is already plumbed. There is an old wax ring down there for the toilet. Then there is a floor drain about 36" away from that with hot and cold lines running down the wall. So, we want to put in a shower here. My dilemma is the floor drain is 3" PVC. Most showers I've found have 2" drains. Can I just use a reducer for this? Is it to code if I do that? House was built in 1991. I live in Ohio and have been searching the code but cannot find anything on this. Any help would be appreciated!
