Last week, I started seeing little green and black "caterpillar like" worms on my steps and lawn edging. I've been using black flag bug spray with some success, but there are a lot of these things. then I noticed that my 60 foot tall pine tree was missing needles-lots of needles. I think that these things are eating the tree. (I recall a similar experience 10 years ago, but have forgotten the resolution.)
A neighbor said that these "looked like the larvae of a pine saw fly", but he wasn't sure.
My Questions:
What type pro do I call- trees/bugs ???, I don't have a sprayer that would reach the top half of the trees.
Are there any other options-products,approaches, equipment, advice??
