Hi,
I am trying to determine what would look best for outdoor landscape lighting at my house. I have attached a few pictures for reference. I will be adding two wall lights on either side of the garage and already have a wall light to the right of the front door as well as a standard post light in the front yard. I would like to add either some uplighting w / flood lights in the flower beds (to accent the house) or some path-light type lights between the plantings. I also plan to add an extra planting in front of the garage in the empty space next to the large bushes, as well as several plantings along the right side of the house. All of the landscape lighting would be low voltage as well (and 120 volts for the wall lights).
I am also wondering whether I should mount the low voltage transformer on a post behind one of the bushes next to the garage, or directly to the vinyl siding. I also have a large tree in the front yard for which you can see the shadow on the lawn and have considered a moonlighting type light perhaps.
Lastly, the front door wall light and post light would likely be on a different circuit than all the other lights. I like the idea of having all of the new lighting turning on at dusk and then turning off at a certain time, say 11 pm and it would be great if I could coordinate all of the lighting to turn on / off at the same time but not sure how realistic this is; anyways, I think I can find a transformer with the photocell/timer feature for the landscape lighting but the wall light fixtures I like don't have these features built in. Would I be looking at a separate timer switch (one switch for both wall lights) and separate photocells (one for each wall light)? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks much.
