Reattaching broken arm support pads of a desk chair?

To begin with, I like to address a moderator. This is my very first post on these forums, and I had a hard time choosing the best fitting section. If this section is deemed unsuitable for this question, could it please be moved to the appropriate section?
Thank you.

Now to focus on my issue: I have a Drabert desk chair (a German company which appears to focus on government dependencies) which I got from a police officer for free. I patched it up a bit by replacing the arm rests which were left in storage too, but were actually very fragile. My mother tripped by accident while cleaning the room, and hit the chair which smashed against the desk, and caused the arm pads to break clean off.

As a short term solution I kept the whole thing together using duct tape, but it got worn overtime and looked terrible. Now I'm wanting to ask if there's a way to get those pads firmly reattached?

Usually one would throw a chair away once it's damaged, but I found this one really, really comfortable compared to the one I'm currently using.

I'm hoping someone is willing to provide some input on this.

Thanks in advance!
