Im in the process of remodeling a bathroom. My floors are very uneven. There is a crown over one of the floor joists in the middle and a slope downward on either side with some dips. The high spot runs parallel with the joist.i have 2x10 joists with a 13' span. Unsure of type wood. Spacing is 16" and some are at 14".
I have removed everthing down to subfloor which is planks 5.5x 3/4. I dont really have time to sister and all the things that probably should be done. This is my only bathroom. My plan was to use 3/4 exterior plywood underlayment but theres a lot of stress on it to just screw it down. So my newer plan is to score the back side about half way through every foot in each direction. And then go from there. If it smooths it out I will probablu make up for the dips with either thinset while laying or use a leveing compound. I have 12x24 porcelain tiles. Should I be worried about them cracking
Is there a way that I can shim the underlayment to be flat?
