Hi Everyone,
I am new to the forum and searching for some answers on my alarm system. I bought a GE Simon XT Alarm about 3 years ago from Devcon Alarms. The idiot installer installed my wireless cellular alarm in the basement and guaranteed that we would hear. Long story short, it was a year later that we tripped the alarm and realized that we couldn't hear it in it's current location. Anyways, I have exhausted calling my security provider (now monotronics) to get them to come move the GSM module and/or add a second module without them charging me $150 just to come and look at it. This is ridiculous.
Anyways, I have found several GSM modules for this system online and all I want to do is add a second GSM module upstairs in the master bedroom. However, I can't determine if this is even possible. I know there is a remote out there that can be added, but I want something will the full alarm that would wake me up a night if tripped. I would prefer it to also have GSM capability to act as a backup to the main unit. Can someone tell me if this is even possible and/or other options I might have in my situation.
The worst part is I have 1 year left on my contract and I can't get rid of the crappy company without paying to do so. Any thoughts are appreciated.
