Compressor warning signs

when I turn on my air conditioner in my air compressor is starting to make louder rotating noise and it gets harder when the air conditioner is on when is off it cools down and the noise stops now I was wondering I have a question is there any type of way to oil the compressor rotates or two compressors just go out what am i looking at.1988 GMC 2500 High Sierra suburban
