I cut off my old under bathroom sink shutoffs because they stuck out to far for my new vanity drawer. I thought this would be easy as I have done plumbing projects before
The new compression fittings (1/2" / 3/8") don't fit the pipe tightly. They are not loose, but not enough to hold water for sure (they pull off).
When I try the shutoff on a piece of 1/2" pipe I have in the garage, they fit tight. I assume the pipe coming out of the wall is 1/2" but a different type. Any ideas how I can fix this and get my water back on?
P.S. These are next to a pvc pipe, so sweating is not possible.
Can't turn water back on - sink shutoff doesn't fit
