So I have a near 100 year old house (bad decision on my part to buy it a few years ago) and i recently noticed that the bottom panel of one of the alley facing doors is rotting and falling apart. The other door seems perfectly fine though.
The solid wood panel itself seems to be fine, its just the outer face that is falling apart. It looks like plywood or particle board but im not 100% sure.
Can i just pull that part off and nail a new piece of board to that panel and paint it? Or is there more that needs to happen? We are actually closing on a new house this week and id really like to avoid spending money to buy a whole new door, but not really sure what the cheapest and easiest fix would be.
