Hi,
We have a Whirpool water heater "FG" model that we bought from Lowes around 2005. This morning I took a nice hot shower, did a few things around the house, fixed my lawn tractor, cut my grass, went to take a shower and realized the hot water wasn't coming.
I tried to re-set the pilot light using the red reset button and the igniter as per instructions, but the light won't come on at all.
I just read about Whripool FG problems. I will call Lowes and ask for repair kit. However, what bugs me, is that there's water dripping now from the pipe nut at the top of the unit, I believe it's the hot water pipe - the one on the left side of the unit; the one on the right side has a on / off valve so this must be the cold water coming in.
There was not any leaks in this unit until today, I am sure of it. So, can the leak be related to the burner refusing to come on ? It's not a huge leak, it just started dripping.
Thanks !
Whirpool Water Heater FG won't heat water - but also started to leak
