About 9 months ago, the tub/shower combo in my hall bathroom started whistling when the hot water would run. The house was built in the 1970's and the bathrooms have not been updated since. We went ahead and replaced the diverter stem valves for the hot water knob, the cold water and even the mixer knob in the middle. That solved the problem! Until now. It's started whistling again and we don't know what to replace next. It whistles when the tub spout is on, so I don't think it has anything to do with the showerhead. It also only whistles when the hot water is turned on and the water is hot (no whistling while the water is warming up when you first turn on the knob). What do we need to replace next? We have easy access to all of the plumbing in the house (the lines are in our crawl space). And there is drywall on the back side of the tub that we can cut away to get the shower plumbing.
