I'm trying to install shelf under basement stairs. Tried to screw 3/4" furring strip to 2x4. First off stripped #10 3" Phillips screw. Got it out and drove another screw but this time it broke. So now I have part of screw in hole.
Stripping screws has happened before. Why??? Is it the bit? Cheap screws? My driving technique with drill? My project is on hold until I figure out what I,m doing wrong. And I thought driving the tapcon screws into the cinder block would be the problem!
