our condo handyman says that my cedar deck needs pressure washing before the yearly re-stain he recommends. my wife says that's a practice that will damage the already existing stain. she's inclined just to brush on a new layer of oil based stain. I have to say the surface now looks pretty clean and dry, and the yearly staining is preventive, and is due to the harsh sunny extremes of Arizona. any advice??
