Alarm not working since I switched to Cox

I switched my phones from a POTS and DSL to Cox digital phone and internet. Snce switching my alarm is not working. I assumed it would since all the existing phone jacks in my home work. Alarm company tells me to call the phone company, phone company tells me to call the alarm company. I am trying to avoid paying any fees and try a DIY first



I looked up the info on rewiring the R13 Jack. My alarm panel is installed in the center of my home and the digital modem in my back room. Does the alam need to be in the same room with the modem. That is what I was not understanding on rewiring. The alarm is connected to an exiting R13. I am just not understanding why it is not working.



Any help is appreciated
