Power 832 and PK5500

I replaced a LED keypad with a PK5500 on my Power 832. I only get a one line display instead of two and I'm getting no message help. I tried enrolling it but everything is still the same. I know very little about my system. The installer did not leave the install sheets. The basic system is 12 years old.
