We recently purchased a new home and prior to moving in I gutted the kitchen and installed new cabinets. There is a soffit above tcabinet which was off square giving me one hell of a time. as you can see in the pics I did the best I could with what I had. To the far right above the refrigerator the gap is 1" that gradually slopes to roughly 1/4".
The problem is my trim is only 3/4" so I will still have a gap showing using the trim I currently have. the trim was expensive so we would like to use it.
My original plan was to cut a strip of matching panel board I used for the island cabinet to run along the top of the cabinet than tack up the 3/4" trim. I'm second guessing myself now and am wondering what would be the proper way to do this without ruining what I've done so far?
