recently installed a new SJE Rhombus Vertical Master float switch. it has gotten stuck in the ON position 4 times in 8 days, running the pump dry.
the switch has a sliding magnetic linkage between the float rod and the switch mechanism that is sealed inside a waterproof switch body.
we discharge our iron filter into the sump every night when it regenerates. I'm thinking the magnetic mechanism is attracting fine iron particulates that then cause the sliding plunger to bind, holding the switch open even after the float reaches bottom.
anyone else experience this?
I have a 2nd vertical float switch from SPI that came with my storm pro pump. it has never had this problem - but I don't know if it's a magnetic switch or a physical linkage.
