My house was built in 92. It has these recessed lights that are not the typical can you see today. Basically the trim is the can and then the socket clips into the top of it. They are ugly and I want to replace, but the trim is just over 7.5" wide, just barely wider than any led retrofit kit I have found. I decided to try a retrofit can, but the opening is 6.75" and the widest opening called for on any can I see is 6.375". Does anyone know of any cans that can fit in a 6.75" opening or have any other ideas how to replace these? Thanks!
