Key turns about 1/4 clockwise or counter before deadbolt starts to retract

I just bought a new schlage deadbolt B60 series and was able to replace an old kwikset deadbolt. However, when I tried the key that the new deadbolt came with, the key turns about a quarter clockwise to unlock or counter to lock before the deadbolt starts to retract then I have to turn half turn to be able to pull my key out. Is there something I can do so that right when i turn the key, the deadbolt also retracts right away?
