We have a sewage ejector pump (sump) in the basement that pumps to a septic tank outside.
The lid of the bucket that holds the pump is old and they don't make the model anymore.
Rubber gasket missing.
We replaced the pump as it was 30 years old and resealed underneath with silicone.
It was still smelling so I put a shop VAC on reverse on the venting pipe and added soapy water to see for any leaks.
I resealed the leaks and repeated.
I cannot see any further bubbles/leaks but a smell is still escaping.
Any ideas how I can seal this off now?
Would an acrylic box do it?
Would a fan in the vent pipe work?
