I attached a picture of the piece of a wall that I want to remove in between the red lines. It's a half wall. I'm pretty sure its safe to remove this portion, but just want a second opinion.
Also, there are a couple electrical outlets on each side of this wall. How difficult would they be to move? I doubt the wires that are there will be long enough to simple move over though.
