I have a Harbor Freight 2HP dust collector (with an upgraded 1 micron fine filter bag), and I'm looking at installing permanent tubing in my shop. I've read a bunch of articles at the merits between HVAC tubing and PVC but this question is different. I'd like to use 6" tubing, but the entrance into the impeller is a 5" hole. The tool currently includes a 5"-to-4" double-ended reducer (one side is always closed off). All my current tubing is 4" flex.
My question is this: Would you think to make everything a 6" and reduce from 6-to-5 right at the tool, vs. using the included 5-to-4 reducer? I'd think going as big as I can go would be preferable, but I just wanted to throw this out there and get some opinions.
Thanks!

Dust Collection - Collector has a 5" hole at the tool, use 6" tube throughout?
