So, I had a sewer block. After dropping a decent amount of coin to get roto rooter out (first guy was a Angies List 'Big Deal' promotion and he didnt want to try to open the cap), we discovered the blockage was grease-caused
He got the drain clear, but explained that there wasnt a 'block' for the auger to pull out... he basically was pushing the grease around and eventually it likely will clog again--in a week, a month, 5 years, who knows?
He recommended 'jetting' the line. $475, including camera. He says this will remove the grease.
Is this a gimmick? Seems legit, based on my googling. My house was built in 1955. Whats the risk? Could the jetting blow apart a section of pipe?
