After a big rain last week, we discovered we had some roof damage (the plywood/sheath rotted through and water began leaking through). Luckily, it was not over a living space.
We had an claims adjuster come out and got good news from our insurance company today. They've authorized replacing part of the roof (if you look at the pic, it's the area around the dormers, as well as the area to the right, over the garage).

When we go to hire a roofing company, we'd like to arm ourselves with some knowledge so that we know they're doing it right.
What questions should we be asking the people who come out for the estimates?
What details should we make sure are "spelled out"/detailed in the contract?
Should there be anything in the contract about unforeseen issues (like bad plywood in other areas of the roof)?
Any other concerns we should think about before the work starts?
