We're about to get started on a kitchen remodel, and doing the demo ourselves, but we have no water shut off valve underneath the sink. We know that the main is in the crawl space and there is a meter in front of our house. But if we shut the main or meter off, then we won't have water to the house, and since we're living in the house as we do the remodel, what are our options?
We're demoing next weekend, and the plumber will be here on Tuesday to do the rough-in plumbing, which in that case, we'll have him install a water shut off valve. But until then, what are our options?
We also have wall mount faucet so we were thinking if it's alright to just not shut the water off, and try to carefully remove everything else. The current countertop is laminate and think we can easily remove it. The backsplash is also this laminate sheeting that looks to be already peeling off so I don't think it'll be too much of a problem to remove that carefully. But we did tell the plumber that we would remove the drywall enough for him to move the pipes around since he has to lower the drain and replace galvanized pipes. Any help would be appreciated!
