Reinstalling Win7, Is req. for installation cd same as recovery cd?

compaq presario CQ60. I am wanting to restore windows 7 to factory settings. Doesn't look like there is a partion drive for restoring. I don't have an installation cd. I have a recovery cd I made. Is that the same? when I try to do a restore to factory it says I will need installation disc. This is where my question comes in. Thanks
