I have a fluorescent light fixture with 2 bulbs it has 2 separate ballasts.
I am replacing the 2 ballasts with one single one that powers 2 bulbs.
I understand the diagram on the new ballast but am confused on the wiring going to the bulb socket terminals.
I have 2 red wires that go to 1 socket then on the opposite side of the fixture and the opposite bulb I have the other 2 red wires. Those 4 red wires will go to the red wire on the ballast.
Now I have 2 white wires and a blue wire on the other socket of each bulb.
Question: I will have to connect a white wire and a blue wire to the ballasts blue wire correct? Does it matter which one? both?
I do have 2 separate blue wires on the new ballast.
What is the extra white wire on the bulb sockets?
cap it off?
I tried taking the end caps off to see but not sure how to.
The GE ballast is the new one and the Robertson ballast is one of the old ones.
