How to use the small mixingbowl on a sunbeam 01401 mixer

I just bought a used sunbeam 01401 mixer.

When I use the big bowl there's no problem, but

I can however not use the small mixing bowl.

The beater hits the bottom of the bowl and makes noise!



Did I buy a busted mixer or am I doing it wrong?
